Do I need a cookie banner?

Not for analytics. Nothing like a cookie is written to the visitor's browser. The trade-off: the same person counts as a new visitor the next day.

Are my own visits counted?

You aren't counted while working in the editor. To stay uncounted while browsing your own site, exclude your browser in one click from the Analytics screen.

How long is history kept?

Detailed data for 3 months, daily summaries for longer: the 6 and 12 month views come from these summaries.

Can I see goals retroactively?

No. A goal starts counting from the moment you add it.

Is analytics on the free plan?

No. Visits aren't collected on the free plan at all; analytics is on from the Menu plan up and during the 14-day trial.
